The focus of this second conference is a changing Svalbard in a pan-Arctic setting.
The high Arctic Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard is a unique platform for high quality international research and education. We know that cooperation is a key to success, says Rune Vistad, Director of the Department for Climate and Polar Research at The Research Council of Norway. Thus, the Svalbard Science Forum, The Research Council of Norway and the Norwegian Polar Institute in cooperation with NySMAC, invite you to the second Svalbard Science Conference. Our goal for this conference is to enhance research cooperation and quality, build and strengthen interdisciplinary and international networks and consolidate Svalbard as an attractive platform for Arctic research.
We invite participants to submit abstracts and take an active role through presentations, poster sessions and group discussions. The conference will take place in Oslo, 5 – 6 November 2019 at the Scandic Fornebu hotel. Registration and abstract submission will open in March 2019.
